George E. "Farmer" LeGore, of York, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 10, 2017 at his home at the age of 84. George lived a full and healthy life until two months ago when a short bout with cancer ultimately led to his death. He was the widower of the late Mary A. LeGore, who passed away in 2002.

He was born in Glen Rock on October 18, 1932 and was the son of the late Carroll E. and Irene M. (Rowed) LeGore. George served valiantly in the United States Army and was a Korean War veteran. He then went on to provide almost forty years of dedicated service at Fincor Electronics, where he retired from in 1998. During his retirement, gardening and helping neighbors and family were George's passions. He was a life member of the Pleasureville American Legion Post #0799, a member of the Victory Athletic Association, Vigilant Social Club and a member of the York First Church of the Brethren.

George is survived by his loving partner, Nancy J. Myers. A sister, Dorothy M. Reever and her husband Donald of Dallastown, a step-son, Robert W. Foltz and his wife Kathy of York and a step- daughter, Judi (Foltz) Burhans and her husband, Ron of Hilton Head, SC. Six step-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Viewings for George will be on Monday, April 17th from 6-8 pm and on Tuesday, April 1th , from 9:30 to 10:30 am am at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise for George will begin at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military rites offered by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.

In Lieu of flowers, please present donations to the York County SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, PA 17406.
