Margaret "Almeda" (Kunkle) Myers, of Red Lion, entered into God's eternal care after a brief illness on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 9:45 am at Manor Care Dallastown at the age of 97. She was the wife of the late Harold M. Myers who entered into rest on February 7, 2015.

Almeda was born in Franklin County on June 9, 1919 and was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Hile) Kunkle. She graduated from Shippensburg High School Class of 1937. After graduation she worked in a shirt factory and then later she was employed part-time with P.A. & S. Small Company in York as an inventory clerk. Almeda was a longtime member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Red Lion.

She is survived by her daughter, Janice E. Myers of Red Lion. She was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Kunkle.

There will be no viewing. Cremation will take place with Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Graveside Service to Honor and Praise Almeda will be on Friday, April 21st at 11 am at Red Lion Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to meet at the graveside around 10:45 am. Her pastor, Rev. Timothy A. Funk will officiate.

Almeda enjoyed playing cards, sewing and doing word puzzles. She lived a very simple life, but spending time with her family was very important to her. She could be found sitting in her chair for countless hours with her dog Millie laying on her lap enjoying the attention and companionship they gave to each other.
It has been requested that in lieu of flowers, to spend quality time and or do something special for a loved one.

God looked upon his garden and saw an empty place. He then looked down upon us and saw her tired face. He put his arms around her, and lifted her to rest. God's garden must be beautiful now, for he only takes the best.
