Milton F. AmspacherRed LionMilton F. Amspacher, entered into eternal rest after a lengthy illness on Wednesday April 6 at 1:20 p.m. at Rest Haven-York at the age of 83. He was the husband of Phyllis W. (Walker) Amspacher of Red Lion.He was born in Glen Rock on August 31, 1932 and was the son of the late Russell A. and Edna E. (Gerbrick) Amspacher.

Milton was a Mason working for various contractors in his earlier years. He later became self-employed in a partnership with Dettinger and Amspacher for 27 years prior to his retirement. He was also employed with Van Slyke and Horton, part time, for 12 years. He was a United States Army Veteran from 1953 to 1955, serving during the Korean War and spending 18 months in Germany.He was a member of McKendree United Methodist Church since 1955, New Bridgeville Fire Company and was a graduate of Glen Rock High School Class of 1950.

In addition to his his wife, Phyllis, he is survived by a daughter, Diane L. Sterner of Red Lion; three sons, David A. Amspacher of Red Lion, Mark E. and his wife, Amanda Amspacher of Red Lion and Michael L. and his wife, Susan Amspacher of Red Lion; five grandchildren, Kyle Sterner, Alisa Grove, Katelyn, Sara and Eli Amspacher.

There will be a viewing Monday, April 11, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at McKendree United Methodist Church, 3708 Delta Road, Airville.

A Service of Honor and Praise for Milton will begin on Monday, April 11 at 11 a.m. at the church. His pastor, the Rev. Gary L. Daugherty, will officiate. Burial will be in McKendree UM Cemetery with flag folding ceremony presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, will be assisting the family with the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to McKendree United Methodist Church, 3708 Delta Road, Airville, PA 17302.

Milton and Phyllis married on December 27, 1952, celebrating 63 years together. He enjoyed spending time with his family, working outdoors and his Ford Tractors.
