Navy Emblem

Peter A. Marozas entered into rest unexpectedly on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 2:25 p.m. at York Hospital at the age of 92. He was the lifelong partner of Elke Paasch of Germany for 50 years. (Sie war seine unsterldiche Geliebte.)

Pete was born in Waterbury, CT on November 22, 1924 and was the son of the late Peter Joseph and Anna (Galvele) Maros. He served in the United States Navy and then worked in the Merchant Marines for 40 years retiring at the rank of Commander. He was a member of the York Barbell and the Old Timers. Pete also was a member of the National Rifle Association.

Besides his lifelong partner, Elke, he leaves to cherish his memory, a brother, Frank Maros of Media, PA. Frank had four daughters, Diane Lamb of Alexandria, VA and Karen Maros of New York City; and two preceded their uncle in death, Lynne Kramer and Susan Petrusky. He was a great-uncle to their eight children. Pete resided with his niece, L. Martha Ann Thomas of York. He has two great-nieces, Julie Skaarup of Frederick, MD, Emily di Febo of York; and a great-nephew, John di Febo of San Antonio, TX; along with his best friend Jeffrey di Febo of York and his protégée, Ellie. Peter was preceded in death by his two sisters, Barbara Maros and Anna Sinkevich.

There will be no viewing. Cremation will take place with Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. Burial will be at a later date, in the family plot, in Connecticut, at the convenience of the family.
