YORK
Ruth Ella (Graham) Gable, 94, entered into eternal rest unexpectedly at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at York Hospital. She was the wife of Noah A. Gable, who entered into rest on February 9, 1986.

She was born in Lower Windsor Twp., on January 26, 1921, and was the daughter of the late Reuben G. and Ella N. (Smeltzer) Graham.
Ruth was a caregiver in various nursing homes and also worked in private duty nursing care in personal homes, retiring in 1986 after many years of service to others. She attended Christ Lutheran Church in Spry.

She is survived by a daughter, Charmaine S. Gable of York; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Blane J. Gable in August 1977; by two brothers, Lloyd G. Graham and Reuben M. Graham; and three sisters, Margie M. (Graham) Saylor Newcomer, Emma Reichard, and Wilminia "Mina" E. Thoman.

There will be a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, November 30, at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise for Ruth will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home with her pastor, Jim Polanzke, officiating. Burial will be at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to York County SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, PA 17406.

Ruth was a very caring, loving and wonderful Mother. She and Charmaine loved to spend time together, shopping, taking Sunday afternoon rides, and stopping for ice-cream along the way.
God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, so He wrapped His arms around you and whispered, "Come To Me." She will be missed greatly by her many friends and especially Charmaine, but she will forever be in our hearts.
