Donald M. Wickman of Red Lion, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 2, 2018 at 1:30 am at Manor Care Dallastown at the age of 83. He was the husband of Joan V. (Adelung) Wickman.

Donald was a Designer Draftsman working for Whitman Requardt and Associates in Maryland, retiring after many years of service. He was a United States Army Veteran, an author and a cartoonist. Some of his cartoons have been published and he was of the United Methodist Faith.

Besides his loving wife, Joan, he leaves a son, Karl E. Wickman and his wife Sheila of Airville, and a daughter, Kathleen L. Spencer and her husband Russell of Abingdon, Maryland. He was doting grandfather to Casey Scarff and husband Joshua of Phoenix, Maryland and great grandfather to Jordyn and Gracelyn Scarff. Donald leaves a sister, Donna Groome of Tennessee and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be no viewing. Cremation will take place with Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. Family and friends are invited to extend their condolences on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 1-2 with a Memorial Service to Honor and Praise Donald's life to begin at 2 pm at the funeral home. The York County Veterans Honor Guard will present a flag folding ceremony just prior to the start of the service. Rev. Mitchell M. Galloway, pastor of Winterstown United Methodist Church in Felton will officiate. Burial will be at Parkwood Cemetery in Baltimore, MD at a later date.

Donald was a very kind and loving family man with a great sense of humor. God saw him getting tired, and a cure was not to be. So He wrapped his arms around him, and whispered, "come to me." A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands now rest. He broke our hearts to prove to us, HE ONLY TAKES THE BEST. He will be in our hearts forever, and will be waiting for us, when we meet again.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered in memory of Donald, to: North Harford Middle School, 112 Pylesville Road, Pylesville, Maryland 21132.
